Bob Turley completed the game without help from the bullpen and shortstop
Billy Hunter had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the New York Yankees topped the
Baltimore Orioles by a score of 5 to 1 at Yankee Stadium.

Turley(8-3) put on a good performance. He allowed just 4 hits and 4 walks in
9 innings. New York finished with 9 hits in the victory.

Ray Moore(5-7) suffered the loss in relief. He was knocked around pretty
good, giving up 3 runs in 2 and 1/3 innings.

AL Transaction June 29th


The Cleveland Indians released Ted Gray.

Gray, a 30 year old southpaw, started the season with the White Sox and was released after one start covering 3 innings allowing no runs. In 2 appearances with the Tribe Gray allowed 3 earned runs in 2 innings. Last year with the Tigers he was 0-9 with a 4.86 ERA in 74 IP.
