Johnny Kucks held Baltimore to 3 hits at Yankee Stadium as the dominant New
York Yankees beat the Baltimore Orioles by the count of 3 to 1.

Kucks(6-2) was on top of his game. He didn't allow much, just 3 hits and 2
walks in 9 innings lowering his ERA from 4.44 to 4.05. New York finished
with 9 hits in the victory.

Erv Palica(2-9) was charged with the loss. Paul Richards was obviously
impressed with the pitching of Kucks, 'That guy made us look a little silly
out there this afternoon. We just couldn't get to him at all - everything
was working for him. I just hope that he got that kinda performance out of
his system.'
