runs utilizing 4 base hits. Johnny Groth led off the inning for Chicago when
he drew a walk. After an out was recorded, Minnie Minoso stepped up to the
plate and he delivered a one-base hit bringing in a run. Minoso took second
on the throw. George Kell then laced a single. Jim Rivera was up next and
he stroked a base-hit bringing in another run. Sherm Lollar stepped into the
box and singled to load the bases. Chico Carrasquel kept the rally going and
hit a sacrifice fly scoring the final run of the inning. That early scoring
held up. Chicago had 8 hits for the afternoon.

Donovan(7-2), allowing 1 run for the game, picked up the victory. Tommy
Byrne(1-2) ended up with the loss. He allowed 6 hits and 4 walks in 5
