With the hometown crowd on the edge of their seats, Boston Red Sox came from
behind to top Chicago White Sox, 4 to 3.

Boston erupted with the game winning runs in the 9th inning scoring 3 runs
using 2 hits. Billy Goodman kicked off the action when he slapped a single.
Gene Stephens followed, but he was set down on strikes. Harry Agganis then
drew a walk. Jackie Jensen was up next and he delivered a base-hit to load
the bases. Grady Hatton came to the plate and drew a walk scoring a run.
One out later, Billy Klaus stepped in and he reached on an error making
Boston victorious to the delight of the the home town crowd. Boston rapped
out 8 hits for the afternoon.

Ellis Kinder(2-1) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 inning. Virgil
Trucks(2-3) was the losing pitcher. Pinky Higgins was in great spirits in
his post-game interview. Yet, when asked about his feelings after the
thrilling comeback victory, he volunteered, 'I'll tell you this much - I know
how my counterpart, Marty Marion, feels right now - and it's not very good.
It's terrible when you come up on the short end of one of these!'
