Chet Nichols pitched a complete game as the Milwaukee Braves defeated the
Chicago Cubs by the score of 2 to 1 at County Stadium.

Milwaukee scored the deciding run in the bottom of the 8th inning. After an
out was recorded, Bill Bruton drew a walk. After another out, Chuck Tanner
came to the plate and doubled scoring the run. The Chicago batters went down
meekly in the 9th.

Nichols(4-1) allowed 1 run on the game. Hal Jeffcoat(1-3) was hit with the
loss in relief. He surrendered 2 hits and 2 walks in 2 innings.
