Right fielder Carl Furillo homered as the red-hot Brooklyn Dodgers defeated
the Philadelphia Phillies by the score of 6 to 1 at Ebbets Field.

In the 3rd inning Brooklyn scored 4 runs when they had 5 base hits. That was
all Billy Loes(3-1) needed. Brooklyn had 11 hits for the game and
Philadelphia had 4.

Robin Roberts(5-3) was tagged with the loss. He got hit hard, allowing 9 hits
and 3 walks in 3 and 2/3 innings. Brooklyn added another win to their
mounting winning streak.
