In a dramatic ending, the Baltimore Orioles staged a comeback win over the
Boston Red Sox by the count of 6 to 5.

Baltimore erupted with the game winning runs in the 9th inning scoring 3 runs
using 2 hits. Bobby Young led off and he delivered a one-base hit. Eddie
Waitkus came next and he drew a walk. Cal Abrams then drew a walk to load
the bases. Gil Coan stepped in and he would hit into a force play knocking
in a run. Tom Hurd then unleashed a wild pitch bringing in another run.
After an out was recorded, Les Moss stepped up to the plate and he singled
giving Baltimore the victory as 7,611 happy fans celebrated wildly. Boston
had 11 hits in the game while Baltimore had 7, but Baltimore had the more
timely hits.

Ray Moore(1-4) was the winner allowing no runs in 1 inning. Hurd(1-2) was hit
with the loss in relief. Baltimore scored big getting 3 runs off him in 2
innings.

'What a game!,' Moore said afterward. 'When we won it I almost couldn't
believe it!'
