In a two run game the Cleveland Indians got by the Kansas City Athletics in 12
innings by the score of 4 to 2.

The score was tied at 2 after nine. Cleveland was victorious in the 12th
inning. After an out was recorded, Bobby Avila initiated the scoring spurt
when he drew a walk. Larry Doby was next and he laced a base-hit. Doby took
second on the throw. Al Rosen then drew a walk to load the bases. Hal
Naragon followed and he doubled knocking home two runners. Kansas City was
retired without difficulty in the bottom of the 12th.

Ray Narleski(2-0) allowed no runs in 2 innings, and picked up the victory. Don
Mossi was credited with his 2nd save. Bill Harrington(0-2) was hit with the
loss in relief.
