Gus Triandos smacked a grand slam as the Baltimore Orioles defeated the New
York Yankees by a score of 7 to 6 at Memorial Stadium.

The Baltimore fans enjoyed the offense provided by Triandos. He banged out a
single in the 2nd inning and hit a 'grand salami' to the delight of his
teammates (his 2nd of the season) in the 7th inning. New York threatened in
the 9th but Baltimore was able to put down the rally.

Ray Moore(2-4) went 2 and 1/3 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Jim
Konstanty(2-1) ended up with the loss in relief. The Baltimore ballclub's
record now stands at 15-26. Even with the loss, New York still has a nice
9-1 record in recent weeks. They are 28-12 on the season.
