Bud Podbielan went the distance as the Cincinnati Redlegs defeated the
Milwaukee Braves by the score of 9 to 3 at Crosley Field.

Milwaukee was unable to claim the lead after Cincinnati went ahead in the 4th
inning as they scored 3 runs on 3 base hits. The key at-bat was by Johnny
Temple who made the home-town crowd a happy bunch when he banged out a single
which was good for two runs. Cincinnati finished with 12 hits in the
victory.

The victory was credited to Podbielan(1-0) who went the distance, allowing 3
runs. Joey Jay(0-1) was hit with the loss.
