AL Transaction June 2nd
The Detroit Tigers called up 26 year old rookie Babe Birrer. Birrer was signed by the Tigers in 1947 and for 7 years has worked his way through the minors.
To make room the Tigers sent down 30 year old rookie Van Fletcher and 28 year old, 3 year vet, Ben Flowers. Fletcher was 0-0 with a 1.50 ERA in 12 IP and Flowers was 0-0 with a 9.00 ERA in 6 IP.
