NL Transaction June 3rd

The New York Giants called up 22 year old Venezuelan Ramon Monzant to bolster the pitching staff. Monzant made one start and four other appearances in 1954 with no decisions and a 5.87 ERA. He is known as a curveball specialist and the Giants have high hopes for this youngster.

To make room New York released 28 year old righty Al Corwin. Corwin was 0-1 with a 4.38 ERA in 25 innings this year after a miserable 1954 season (7.55 ERA in 31 IP).
