Herb Score took a no-hitter into the 8th inning at Municipal Stadium as the
Cleveland Indians beat the struggling Baltimore Orioles by the count of 4 to
0.

Score(8-0) simply dominated Baltimore. He surrendered only 2 hits and 2 walks
in 9 innings. Score recorded 11 strikeouts. The left-handed Score lost his
chance for a no-hitter when Jim Pyburn singled with two outs in the 8th
inning. Cleveland managed 8 in their victory.

Saul Rogovin(2-3) was the loser. He surrendered 4 runs and 8 hits in 7 and
2/3 innings. Everyone seemed to enjoy the performance of Score - except
Baltimore. Paul Richards lamented, 'He just was 'on' this afternoon. He was
keeping our guys off balance all game. A fine game by a good strikeout
pitcher - makes it a fun game for the hometown fans - unfortunately we were
the visitors!'
