In a close game it was the Brooklyn Dodgers 8, the Cincinnati Redlegs 6 in 10
innings at Ebbets Field.

Both teams were tied at 6 runs apiece after nine innings. Finally, Brooklyn
pulled the game out in the 10th inning. After two were out Don Hoak got
things rolling when he lined a base-hit. Frank Kellert came to the plate and
blasted a two-run home run (his 3rd of the season) giving Brooklyn the
victory and sending the 31,905 home-town fans home happy. Brooklyn ended up
with 16 hits for the game while Cincinnati had 12.

The victory went to Clem Labine(4-1) who went 2 and 1/3 innings, allowing 2
runs. Johnny Klippstein(2-3) absorbed the loss in relief. Brooklyn now has a
record of a league leading 34-18. With the loss Cincinnati now has a record
of 25-24.
