In a two run game the Chicago Cubs got by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 10 innings
by the score of 5 to 3.

The score was tied at 3 after nine. Chicago came out the victor in the 10th
inning. Harry Chiti got things going when he drew a walk. Hank Sauer
followed, but he was set down on strikes. Eddie Miksis then lashed a single,
and an error was also committed. Gene Baker was up next and he delivered a
base-hit which was good for two runs. Chicago had 8 hits for the night.

The victory went to Howie Pollet(2-1) who went 2/3 of an inning, allowing no
runs. Pollet was helped out by Harry Perkowski who recorded his 1st save.
Dick Littlefield(0-7) took the loss in relief.
