Hank Bauer rocketed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI at Municipal Stadium as the New
York Yankees beat the Cleveland Indians 7 to 4.

Bauer had a big evening at the plate. He cracked a solo homerun in the 2nd
inning and bombed a two-run dinger (his 11th of the season) in the 4th
inning. New York simply wore out the Cleveland pitching staff, scoring in 6
different innings.

Tommy Byrne(2-2) went 8 and 1/3 innings allowing 4 runs for the victory. Byrne
got relief help from Jim Konstanty who gained credit for his 6th save. Mike
Garcia(5-6) was the loser.
