Bill Skowron had 4 hits and 3 RBI and Ed Lopat pitched a complete game as the
blistering-hot New York Yankees defeated the Chicago White Sox 10 to 1 at
Comiskey Park.

Skowron had a big day at the plate. He bombed a two-run dinger (his 4th of
the season) in the 3rd inning, laced a single plating a run in the 5th
inning, doubled in the 7th inning and lined a base-hit in the 9th inning.
New York simply wore out the Chicago pitching staff, scoring in 6 different
innings.

The winning pitcher was Lopat(3-3) who allowed 1 run for the game. Bob
Keegan(2-4) was given the loss. He was knocked around by New York, allowing
9 hits and 2 walks in 5 innings.

This win by New York continues their recent hot streak. In their last ten
games, they have a record of 9-1. For the season, they are a league leading
36-12. With the loss, the Chicago ballclub's record is 27-18.
