Left fielder Ray Jablonski lofted one into the 'cheap seats' as the Cincinnati
Redlegs defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates in 12 innings by a score of 7 to 6 at
Forbes Field.

The score was tied at 5 after nine. Cincinnati won the hard fought contest in
the 12th inning. Jablonski was the sparkplug when he lofted a solo-blast
'downtown' (his 4th of the season). Chuck Harmon followed and he lined a
one-base hit. Two outs later Johnny Temple stepped in and he banged out a
single scoring the final run of the inning. Pittsburgh had 14 hits in the
game while Cincinnati had 8, but Cincinnati had the more timely hits.

Art Fowler(6-1) went 3 innings allowing 1 run for the win. Vern Law(5-2) was
tagged with the loss in relief. He gave up 3 hits and 1 walk in 1 inning.
