Ray Jablonski slammed 3 homeruns and scored 4 times at Ebbets Field as the
Cincinnati Redlegs beat the Brooklyn Dodgers 11 to 4.

Jablonski was unconscious all day. The Brooklyn fans hated to see him
approaching the batter's box as he just kept delivering base hits! He hit a
single in the 1st inning, smashed a solo-shot out of the park in the 2nd
inning, ripped a solo home run in the 3rd inning and blasted a solo shot (his
7th of the season) in the 8th inning. Cincinnati finished with 15 hits while
Brooklyn ended up with 8.

Bud Podbielan(3-0) went 7 and 1/3 innings allowing 4 runs for the victory.
Johnny Podres(5-2) was hit with the loss. He surrendered 6 runs and 6 hits
without retiring a batter.

'It's almost like the ball was trying to hit my bat,' Jablonski said.
'Whenever I would swing, the ball found the sweet spot.'
