Robin Roberts lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and had 2 RBI and he completed
the game without help from the bullpen at Connie Mack Stadium as the
Philadelphia Phillies came back dramatically to top the Milwaukee Braves by
the score of 5 to 4.

Philadelphia had the winning rally in the bottom of the 9th inning with 2
runs. After an out was recorded, Jim Greengrass got things rolling when he
drew a walk. Roberts next to the plate and he cleared the fences for a
two-run home run making Philadelphia the victors to the delight of the home
town faithful. Philadelphia had a total of 12 hits for the game.

Roberts(8-4) finished the game allowing 4 runs in the victory. Ray Crone(2-2)
was tagged with the loss. He was unable to control the Philadelphia offense
and allowed 12 hits and 4 walks in 8 and 1/3 innings.

Mayo Smith was ebullient after the game, 'It's great to win a hard fought game
like that. Our guys just weren't going to be denied. And did you see the
fans - they were going wild! Yes sir, a very enjoyable win this afternoon!'
