Gail Harris blasted 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI and Jim Hearn completed the game
without help from the bullpen as the New York Giants topped the St. Louis
Cardinals by a score of 10 to 4 at Polo Grounds.

The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Harris. He lofted a three-run bomb in the 1st inning and cleared
the fences for a two-run home run (his 3rd of the season) in the 6th inning.
New York rapped out 17 hits for the night.

Hearn(6-5) got the victory, allowing 4 runs for the game. Luis Arroyo(3-3) was
hit with the loss. He pitched 1 and 2/3 innings and surrendered 7 hits and 1
