Ken Boyer cracked 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI as the St. Louis Cardinals defeated
the Brooklyn Dodgers by the score of 10 to 5 at Ebbets Field.

Boyer was a thorn in the side of the hometown fans as he enjoyed a fine day at
their team's expense. He cracked a two-run shot in the 2nd inning and
smacked a three-run homer (his 8th of the season) in the 7th inning.
Brooklyn was out-hit by St. Louis, 16 hits to 9.

Gordon Jones(2-6) went 5 innings allowing 4 runs for the victory. The loss was
charged to Carl Erskine(4-5). He gave up 5 runs in 3 and 2/3 innings of
work.
