Larry Jackson tossed a fine 3 hitter as the St. Louis Cardinals topped the
Philadelphia Phillies by a score of 2 to 1 at Connie Mack
Stadium.

Jackson(3-5) had a strong outing. He didn't give up much, just 3 hits and 5
walks in 9 innings lowering his ERA to 4.76. St. Louis managed 7 in their
victory.

Robin Roberts(8-5) was charged with the loss. He pitched 9 innings and
