Stan Musial smacked 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI at Ebbets Field as the St. Louis
Cardinals won in dramatic fashion coming back to beat the Brooklyn Dodgers by
the count of 9 to 6.

Musial was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he provided
much of the offense for the visitors. He cracked a solo homerun in the 8th
inning and smashed a two-run homer (his 14th of the season) in the 9th
inning. St. Louis had 13 hits for the game and Brooklyn had 10.

The victory was credited to Frank Smith(1-1) who went 2 innings, allowing 2
runs. Barney Schultz earned his 2nd save. The loss was charged to Don
Newcombe(6-2). He was touched for 4 homeruns in his 8 and 1/3 innings of
work.
