Al Dark collected 2 extra-base hits and had 3 RBI at Polo Grounds where the
New York Giants beat the St. Louis Cardinals by the score of 10 to 6.

New York brought 7 runs across the plate in the bottom of the 2nd inning when
they had 8 base hits. That early run support was enough for Johnny
Antonelli(4-5) and New York. St. Louis had a chance in the 9th but they came
up short.

Herb Moford(0-2) was the losing pitcher. 'Anytime you lose it hurts,' said
Harry Walker 'but it's losing the close ones that really hurt.'
