Art Ceccarelli mowed down 10 Baltimore batters as the Kansas City Athletics
defeated the Baltimore Orioles 3 to 2 at Municipal Stadium.

Ceccarelli(4-4) had a strong outing. He was stingy on the mound, allowing
just 6 hits and 5 walks in 9 innings lowering his ERA from 3.74 to 3.48.
Both teams ended up with 6 on the afternoon.

Erv Palica(1-8) suffered the loss. Lou Boudreau was asked about the
performance of Ceccarelli, 'He had his good stuff out there this afternoon.
The fans really get into it when the strikeouts start mounting up - and that
seems to give him even more adrenalin.'
