Bill Bruton had 5 hits and 2 RBI as the Milwaukee Braves defeated the
Philadelphia Phillies in 15 innings 8 to 7 at County Stadium.

The score was knotted at 6 after nine innings. Milwaukee ended up winning it
in the 15th inning. Johnny Logan started the inning off right when he lined
a single. Eddie Mathews stepped into the batter's box and he drew a walk.
Hank Aaron then grounded into a double play. Bobby Thomson was up next and
he doubled which scored a run. George Crowe stepped into the box and was
walked intentionally. Jack Dittmer kept the inning going and lined a
base-hit resulting in an exciting win for Milwaukee and a raucous post-game
celebration by the home town fans. Milwaukee bats were very productive in
the 2nd inning with 3 runs on 4 hits. Milwaukee rapped out 20 hits for the
night.

Bob Buhl(7-2) got credit for the victory, pitching 1/3 of an inning and
allowing no runs. Jack Meyer(3-3) ended up with the loss in relief. He
pitched 3 and 2/3 innings and surrendered 3 hits and 4 walks.
