Carl Furillo left the yard and had 4 RBI at Ebbets Field where the Brooklyn
Dodgers beat the Chicago Cubs 14 to 5.

The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Furillo. He delivered a one-base hit which scored a run in the
3rd inning and belted a three-run homer (his 10th of the season) in the 7th
inning. Brooklyn had 17 hits for the game and Chicago had 13.

Russ Meyer(3-2) allowed 5 runs in 7 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Bob Rush(6-5) suffered the loss. Brooklyn scored big getting 5 runs
off him in 2 and 1/3 innings.
