Eddie Miksis left the yard and had 5 RBI at Wrigley Field as the Chicago Cubs
beat the Philadelphia Phillies 9 to 3.

The Chicago fans enjoyed the offense provided by Miksis. He delivered a
single resulting in a run in the 5th inning, doubled plating a run in the 6th
inning and smacked a three-run homer (his 7th of the season) in the 7th
inning. For the game Chicago out-hit Philadelphia 18 to 8.

Bob Rush(7-5) went 7 and 1/3 innings allowing 3 runs for the victory. Curt
Simmons(2-4) suffered the loss. He surrendered 7 hits and 1 walk in 4 and
2/3 innings.
