Elmer Valo had 3 base hits and 2 RBI as the Kansas City Athletics defeated the
Baltimore Orioles 5 to 3 at Municipal Stadium.

Kansas City drew first blood jumping out to an early lead in the first inning
plating an isolated run utilizing 2 base hits. After the 4th inning, neither
team was able to score.

Arnie Portocarrero(2-2) went 8 innings allowing 3 runs for the victory. Tom
Gorman recorded the save, his 6th. Don Johnson(1-3) was charged with the
loss. He gave up 5 runs and 12 hits in 8 innings.
