Gus Bell had 4 hits and 2 RBI as the Cincinnati Redlegs defeated the reeling
Pittsburgh Pirates in 15 innings by the score of 7 to 6 at Crosley
Field.

Both teams were tied at 3 runs apiece after nine innings. Cincinnati won it
in the 15th inning. Bell smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' (his 11th of the
season) making Cincinnati the victors to the delight of the home town
faithful. Overall Cincinnati out-hit Pittsburgh 13 to 7.

Hersh Freeman(3-3) got credit for the victory, pitching 2 innings and allowing
no runs. Laurin Pepper(0-2) was tagged with the loss in relief. He
surrendered 1 run and 1 hit without retiring a batter.
