NL Transaction June 15th

The St. Louis Cardinals sent 28 year old rookie pitcher Barney Schultz and Herb Moford, a 26 year old rookie pitcher, to Triple A. They recalled 26 year old rookie pitcher Floyd Wooldridge and 27 year old 2nd year pitcher Mel Wright. This move was made to improve what has been a terrible bullpen for the Cardinals.

Schultz was 0-2 with 2 saves and a 5.72 ERA in 28 innings of relief.

Moford was 0-2 with a 5.85 ERA in 20 innings, including one start.

Wooldridge, who was sent down May 11th, is 1-0 with a 0.90 ERA in 10 innings, including one start.

Wright will be appearing for the first time this year after a very shaky 1954. He was 0-1 with a 21.60 ERA in 10 innings pitched last year.
