Al Kaline had 3 base hits and 2 RBI and Duke Maas pitched 5 strong innings at
Memorial Stadium as the Detroit Tigers embarrassed the Baltimore Orioles by
the lopsided score of 10 to 0.

Detroit jumped out to the early lead in the first inning scoring one runner.
Fred Hatfield drew a walk. Bill Tuttle stepped up next and he laid down a
sacrifice bunt. Kaline then laced a single scoring the run. The early run
support proved sufficient for Maas(2-4) and Detroit. That was all the run
support Maas required. Detroit had 7 hits for the afternoon while Baltimore
had 4.

The loss was charged to Harry Dorish(1-2). He allowed just 1 hit and 1 walk
in 5 innings.
