Johnny Podres was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game at Sportsmans Park where the Brooklyn Dodgers beat the St.
Louis Cardinals by the score of 2 to 1.

Brooklyn scored 2 runs in the 4th inning. The highlight belonged to Duke
Snider who helped quiet the crowd when he lifted one out of the park for a
two run home run (his 16th of the season). Brooklyn had only 5 hits for the
night.

The victory was credited to Podres(7-2) who went the distance, allowing 1 run.
Larry Jackson(4-6) ended up with the loss.
