Mickey Mantle jacked one out of the ballyard and had 3 RBI as the New York
Yankees defeated the slumping Kansas City Athletics by a score of 9 to 2 at
Yankee Stadium.

New York claimed the early lead in the first inning as they scored 3 runs on 2
base hits. That early run support was enough for Tommy Byrne(3-3) and New
York. New York ended up with 14 hits for the game while Kansas City had 7.

Alex Kellner(3-5) absorbed the loss. He gave up 5 hits and 1 walk in 1 and
2/3 innings.
