Minnie Minoso collected 2 extra-base hits and had 4 RBI at Griffith Stadium
where the Chicago White Sox beat the Washington Nationals by the score of 9
to 3.

Minoso was a thorn in the side of the hometown fans as he enjoyed a fine day
at their team's expense. He banged out a single in the 4th inning, doubled
clearing the bases in the 5th inning and tripled knocking in a run in the 7th
inning. Chicago out-hit Washington for the game, 16 hits to 10.

Virgil Trucks(7-5) allowed 2 runs in 7 and 2/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Bob Porterfield(4-6) was the loser. He allowed Chicago 5 runs in 4
and 1/3 innings of work.
