Moose Skowron tripled and homered driving in 5 runs as the Yankees end their 4 game losing streak 8-5 over the White Sox in the 1st of two games today.

Bill Skowron left the yard and had 5 RBI at Yankee Stadium where the New York
Yankees beat the Chicago White Sox by the score of 8 to 5.

Skowron had a big day at the plate. He tripled plating two runs in the 6th
inning and lifted one out of the park for a two run home run (his 5th of the
season) in the 8th inning. Chicago made it exciting in the 9th, but they
were unable to push the needed runs across.

The winning pitcher was Ed Lopat(4-4) who allowed 3 runs in 8 and 1/3 innings.
Billy Pierce(6-3) was given the loss. He allowed 4 runs and 5 hits in 5 and
2/3 innings.
