NL Transaction June 19th
The Pittsburgh Pirates placed 28 year old 3B George Freese on the DL today. Freese was hitting .250 with 2 homers and 19 RBI in his rookie season (he had made 1 plate appearance with the Tigers in 1953). It looks as if he will miss the rest of this year.
