Sam Jones completed the game without help from the bullpen as the Chicago Cubs
defeated the Philadelphia Phillies by the score of 3 to 2 at Wrigley
Field.

Chicago scored all of the necessary runs in the 4th inning scoring 3 runners
on 4 hits. Philadelphia had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came
up short.

Jones(6-7) got the victory, allowing 2 runs for the game. Robin Roberts(8-6)
suffered the loss. Stan Hack was beaming after the game, 'Not only were we
making good contact, but a lot of balls we hit seemed to have 'eyes'! I just
love winning these tight ones! It was just our day - no doubt about it!'
