Herb Score dominated striking out 10 Boston batters as the Cleveland Indians
defeated the Boston Red Sox in 13 innings by the score of 5 to 3 at Fenway
Park.

The score was knotted at 2 after nine innings. Cleveland won the game in the
13th inning. Larry Doby got things going when he doubled. Hank Majeski
stepped up to the plate and he drew a walk. After an out was recorded, Dave
Philley came to the plate and drew a walk to load the bases. Sam Dente was
up next and he laced a single driving home two runs. Hank Foiles stepped
into the box and laced a base-knock scoring the final run of the inning.
Cleveland rapped out 10 hits for the afternoon.

Don Mossi(4-2) picked up the victory, allowing 1 run in 2 innings. Leo
Kiely(1-3) took the loss in relief. Cleveland continued their winnings ways
improving their record to 40-23. They are 8-2 in their last ten games.
Boston has a record of 32-31 after the loss.
