Wally Moon ripped 2 homeruns and scored 3 times as the St. Louis Cardinals won
a dandy at Sportsmans Park over the Philadelphia Phillies, 6 to 5.

The game was decided in the bottom of the 9th inning. After two were out Moon
smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' (his 10th of the season) making St. Louis the
winners and sending the 14,307 fans home happy. St. Louis had 13 hits for
the night.

Mel Wright(1-0) picked up the victory, allowing 1 run in 1 inning. Jack
Meyer(3-4) took the loss in relief. He pitched 1 and 2/3 innings and
surrendered 1 hit and no walks.
