Hobie Landrith slammed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI and Joe Nuxhall allowed Birdie
Tebbetts to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game at Crosley Field where
the Cincinnati Redlegs beat the reeling Philadelphia Phillies in 10 innings 5
to 3.

The score was knotted at 3 after nine innings. Cincinnati won the hard fought
contest in the 10th inning. Gus Bell got things going when he lashed a
single. Landrith was next and he cleared the fences for a two-run home run
(his 4th of the season) giving Cincinnati the victory and sending the 9,319
home-town fans home happy. Cincinnati totaled 8 on the afternoon.

Nuxhall(8-4), allowing 3 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Murry
Dickson(3-6) was given the loss. He served up 3 homeruns in his 9 innings.

'He gutted it out' Birdie Tebbetts said of Nuxhall. 'I was very impressed by
his tenacity.'
