Major League Transaction June 23rd
The Boston Red Sox sold Sam Mele to Cincinnati Reds. Mele, a 32 year old OF/1B, had been relegated deep on the Boston bench hitting only .167 over 12 games and 31 plate appearances this year. Last year he hit .248 with 12 homers and 48 RBI while splitting the season with Baltimore and Boston. This will be his 5th team in his 9 year major league career.
