Lew Burdette completed the game without help from the bullpen as the Milwaukee
Braves pulled out a win over the Brooklyn Dodgers by a score of 5 to 2 at
County Stadium.

Milwaukee came through with the game-winning runs in the bottom of the 9th
inning with 3 runs using 3 hits. George Crowe led off and started the rally
when he laced a base-hit. Del Crandall stepped up next and he stroked a
single. Crandall took second on the throw. Chuck Tanner then lost the ball
over the fence for three runs (his 3rd of the season) making Milwaukee the
victors to the delight of the home town faithful. Milwaukee finished with 8
hits in the victory.

The victory went to Burdette(5-6) who went the distance allowing 2 runs. Carl
Erskine(7-6) was the loser. This win by Milwaukee continues their recent hot
streak. In their last ten games, they have a record of 8-2. For the season,
they are 42-24. With the loss, the Brooklyn ballclub's record is 43-23.
