In a thriller the Boston Red Sox staged a dramatic comeback over the Detroit
Tigers winning by a score of 5 to 4 at Fenway Park.

Boston had the winning rally in the bottom of the 9th inning as they scored 5
runs on 3 base hits. The big moment was provided by Ted Williams who made
the crowd happy when he launched a Grand Slam homerun (his 9th of the
season). Boston had a total of 9 hits for the game.

Leo Kiely(2-3) allowed no runs in 2 and 1/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Al Aber(3-4) was the losing pitcher in relief. 'Now that is what I
call fun! I just love baseball, especially games like this, of course,' Pinky
Higgins offered. 'Everyone at the stadium had a great time - did you see the
fans go wild there at the end?!'
