The Cincinnati Redlegs had very little trouble at Crosley Field downing the
floundering Philadelphia Phillies. The score was 8 to 2.

Wally Post made sure the Cincinnati fans enjoyed themselves. He popped a
two-run clout over the fence (his 18th of the season) in the 1st inning,
doubled in the 3rd inning and doubled in the 8th inning. Offensively,
Cincinnati was a juggernaut. They scored in 6 separate innings.

The victory was credited to Art Fowler(8-1) who went 6 innings, allowing 2
runs. Fowler got relief help from Joe Black who gained credit for his 2nd
save. Curt Simmons(2-5) was tagged with the loss. He got hit pretty hard,
allowing 6 hits and 2 walks in 3 innings.
