Center fielder Larry Doby rocketed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the Cleveland
Indians defeated the New York Yankees 9 to 7 at Yankee Stadium.

Cleveland came through with the game-winning runs in the top of the 9th inning
with 2 runs. Hank Majeski started the inning off right when he drew a walk.
Doby stepped up next and he blasted a two-run home run (his 21st of the
season). It was roller coaster of a game as the lead change hands 5 times.

The victory was credited to Ray Narleski(5-0) who went 2 innings, allowing no
runs. Tom Sturdivant(0-2) ended up with the loss in relief. He was knocked
around, surrendering 3 runs in 2 and 2/3 innings.

'I was in my hotel room the other night, working on my swing and made some
adjustments,' Doby said. 'I'm always working on it. If they are getting you
out certain ways, you've got to make changes.'
