Mickey McDermott allowed Chuck Dressen to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete
game at Griffith Stadium as the Washington Nationals beat the Detroit Tigers
by the count of 6 to 3.

McDermott(3-5) delivered a fine performance for Washington. He was reached
for 5 hits and 11 walks in 9 innings. Washington managed 12 in their
victory.

Frank Lary(4-9) was tagged with the loss. Washington now has a record of
