Harmon Killebrew launched 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Washington Nationals
topped the Detroit Tigers by a score of 7 to 1 at Griffith Stadium.

It was a good day for Washington thanks to Killebrew. He cleared the fences
for a two-run home run in the 2nd inning and cracked a solo homerun (his 6th
of the season) in the 4th inning. Overall Washington out-hit Detroit 9 to 6.

The winning pitcher was Ted Abernathy(3-2) who allowed 1 run in 6 innings.
Steve Gromek(5-5) was hit with the loss. He gave up 4 runs and 4 hits in 1
inning.
