WEB GEMS- Bot 7th: Sherm Lollar blocked the plate, saving a run!

Vern Stephens touched them all and had 5 RBI as the Chicago White Sox defeated
the Boston Red Sox in 12 innings by a score of 11 to 8 at Fenway Park.

The score was tied at 8 after nine. Chicago came out on top in the 12th
inning. After two were out Sherm Lollar initiated the scoring when he
smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' (his 4th of the season). Jim Busby came next
and he doubled. Walt Dropo then drew a walk. Bill Henry then bounced one in
the dirt for a wild pitch. Stephens came to the plate and doubled which was
good for two more runs. Boston proved to be no trouble in the bottom of the
12th.

Sandy Consuegra(3-2) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the victory.
Henry(1-4) was the loser in relief. He surrendered 3 runs and 3 hits in 1
